Project workspaces

The workspace connects a selected project to its preparation, application, hosting and publications. Use the project selector before opening its tools.

Before you start — Know which project you intend to manage. When a task affects accounts, hosting or company details, also identify the environment. Your personal sign-in, the selected project and its installation are different contexts.

Select the project to work on

Select a project before opening its operational tools, especially when several projects have similar business areas.

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Open the project selector in the workspace header.
  3. Choose the project you want to view.
  4. Check its name before opening Studio, Application or Infrastructure.

The tools now show the selected project. Changing context does not combine the records of different projects.

Find the next project action

Use the preparation overview for initial decisions and the task overview for actions associated with ongoing work.

  1. Open Dashboard while preparing a new project.
  2. Follow the Getting started steps and open the step shown under Action required.
  3. Once work is underway, open the task overview to find actions waiting for you.
  4. Open the relevant item and complete its question or prerequisite.

Tasks explains the difference between actions to do and work already in progress.

Check the environment before editing

An environment identifies a particular installation of the selected application; check it before changing operational information.

  1. Open the project's settings or operational view.
  2. Locate the development, staging or production selector.
  3. Choose the environment concerned.
  4. Check that the displayed company, account or service belongs to that environment before changing it.

Project context and environment context answer different questions: which project you are managing and which installation you are editing.

To find an installation's addresses, open Service and select Development, Staging or Production. It lists the back office, workspace, website (when your plan includes one), documentation, API and reference addresses of that environment; a service not provisioned yet has no address.

If two applications both contain an orders area, the area name alone cannot identify the project. Check the project first, then its environment, before reporting a missing order page or changing an administration account.

Keep account and project information separate

Choose the tools according to whose information is changing: your own account, the project company or an administration user.

  1. Use your personal account tools for your own sign-in information: click your email address in the header menu to open your profile, where you edit your name, email address and phone number, verify them with Start the verification, use Change Password and sign out a connected device.
  2. Use project settings for the company and address associated with the application.
  3. Use the project's access tools for administration accounts.

You have identified the appropriate account or project tool before editing its information.

Note — A project not yet prepared or installed may show a setup message instead of its operational data. Complete the requested step rather than assuming the empty view means your existing information has been deleted.
