Files and media
Files provide useful context for project preparation and change requests. The media overview shows the service associated with the selected project environment. Use the upload tool belonging to the task you are completing.
Before you start — Choose the task that needs the file and prepare an accepted format. Explain the useful part of the reference. Check the environment when inspecting the media service instead of assuming all uploads belong to production.
Attach a project reference
Attach through the relevant form to retain the same context for the document and explanation.
- Open the preparation or clarification form concerned.
- Locate its attachment control.
- Select the useful document and complete the upload.
- Check that the file is attached before submitting the response.
Explain what the reference demonstrates. A sample form, process description or existing document is easier to use when the important part is identified in your answer.
A sample order document explains a requirement when you identify the fields and rule it demonstrates. A product image needs a separate selection in the public page’s graphic content. Use each file through the task that matches its purpose.
Upload a supported file
Check the upload requirements and result before treating the selected file as available.
- Open Upload files from the clarification form (or Upload documents from the project preparation documents).
- Choose a PDF, CSV, XLS, XLSX or TXT file of 2 MB or less.
- Complete the upload and read its confirmation or error.
- Return to the task and tick the files to attach.
An upload that reports an error is not a successful attachment. Follow the displayed format or size requirement before retrying.
Inspect the media service
Read the environment’s service state before diagnosing a file operation.
- Open CDN.
- Choose Development, Staging or Production.
- Read Plan and Status for that environment.
- If no service is configured, check the project's infrastructure state.
The selected environment determines the service details. Do not assume a production file and a development upload share the same context.
Use an image in a public page
An image placement requires a selection after upload; a reference attachment alone does not select it.
- Open the website page's graphic-content view.
- Upload a supported image using that view's image action.
- Choose the image for the required placement.
- Save the selection and verify the applied public result.
The saved image selection is checked on the public page after application.
Note — A reference attachment and a chosen website image serve different purposes. Uploading a file does not automatically publish it as the visual on every page. Website visuals explains the selection process.
Resolve a file problem
| Situation | What to check |
|---|---|
| A chosen file is not attached | Read the upload confirmation or error and check the selection before submitting the associated response. |
| The service is unavailable | Check the selected environment’s installation and availability before repeatedly uploading the same file. |
| An attachment does not appear as a website image | Use the public page’s graphic-content selection; the two file uses are separate. |
