Application and pages
Application tools let you move from a business area to its functions and individual pages. Use them to locate the screen concerned before checking its behavior or requesting a change.
Before you start — Identify the business area and whether the task belongs to the customer application or its administration. Keep the planned definition and the built page’s state separate when locating the screen.
Find the pages for a business area
Follow the area and function structure to locate the pages used by the task, including its next step.
- Open Application and its configuration view.
- Locate the business area concerned and open its detail.
- Open the associated functions, then their page list.
- Check the selected application or administration context before opening a page.
The page belongs to a function within the selected project. A page still being prepared may have a planned description before a built screen is available.
For a task that starts from a list and ends on a record, check both pages and the link between them. A visually correct list is not enough if its record action leads to the wrong destination or loses the selected context.
Review an individual page
Read the page’s purpose and included behavior before requesting a correction or deciding that an action is missing.
- Open the page detail.
- Read Overview and its current state.
- Open Information to inspect the expected behavior and scope.
- Answer any clarifications presented for that page.
The information view helps you distinguish the purpose of the screen from its current implementation status.
Review a public address
A public route identifies the page address; review it only through the route tool offered for that page.
- Open Public address when the page offers that tool.
- Read the current Address.
- Enter the intended public route if a change is needed.
- Click Save.
Follow the resulting change until it reaches the site, then verify the new link. A conflicting route is refused when another page already uses it.
Review search metadata
Metadata describes a page to search results and shared links; it should remain consistent with the visible content.
- Open the page's SEO view.
- Select the language offered by the editor.
- Review Title and Description.
- Click Save after editing the text.
Write a title and description that explain the real page. Metadata and the visible page body serve different purposes.
Request a change to the working screen
Target the existing screen in Studio when a working behavior needs to change, rather than editing a different planned item.
- Open the built page and copy its address.
- Open Studio and paste the known project URL into the page field.
- Describe the behavior to change and an example for checking it.
- Review and submit the request using the Studio procedure.
The prepared request identifies the right page and includes a result that can be tested.
Note — Route, SEO and graphic tools are available according to the page's surface and state. Use the controls actually offered by that page.
