Getting started

Use this guide to find your way from the first project idea to the first working application. Start in the project workspace; keep the selected project visible as you work.

Before you start — Have your account access and a first description of the business process ready. A useful starting point identifies the people involved, the information they use and the outcome they need. You do not need to decide every screen before beginning.

Open the right project

Establish the project context before reviewing setup so the next decisions concern the application you intend to build.

  1. Sign in to your OWOXO account.
  2. Choose the project you want to work on in the project selector.
  3. Open Dashboard and follow the Getting started steps; the Action required card links to the next step.

If Two-step verification is requested at sign-in, enter the code sent to you and click Verify. If you have forgotten your password, click Forgotten password? on the sign-in page, enter your email address, then the code sent to it, and choose a new password.

A new account first shows Your account activation on the Dashboard: complete your name and phone number, verify your email address and phone number when asked, then click Finalize this step.

The next action belongs to the selected project. If you have not created one yet, click Create a project on the Dashboard before looking for its tools. A new project is then activated from the Dashboard with Finalize this step.

Complete the project preparation

Preparation connects the business need with the scope and operating choices that will be confirmed for the project.

  1. Open the project presentation and describe the activity, audience and expected workflows.
  2. Review the proposed offer and production hosting.
  3. Review and validate the proposed business areas.
  4. Complete the country and hosting-location choices, the domain, the terms and the startup fee.

Use Project preparation for the exact steps. Read the amounts and conditions shown in your workspace before confirming a purchase.

Start the first business area

Choose an initial business area that delivers a complete useful task rather than starting several unrelated screens.

  1. Open Modules and inspect the proposed area.
  2. Answer any questions about its expected behavior.
  3. Follow the preparation and build progress in the project tools.
  4. Open the development application to check the first completed user journey.

You can follow the selected area’s preparation and identify the development journey that will demonstrate its result.

Use Business areas and Roadmaps when preparing construction.

For an application that handles customer requests, describe submission, internal review and the customer’s response as one journey. The first version can focus on that journey; additional processes can be reviewed later in the offer and roadmap.

Prepare the first publication

Prepare a release only after the expected task can be reproduced with the completed development pages.

  1. Review the completed changes in development.
  2. Create a project version from Deployment.
  3. Test that version on staging.
  4. Publish it to production after verifying the required domains and user journeys.

The tested version is available in the intended environment and the public journey has been checked.

Note — Launch shows each step of this path. Staging and production are installed only after you click My development environment is validated, and production waits until your domains are declared and point to the address shown on your domains page. At the review step, click I have reviewed my version when you have checked the staging version.

Important — Construction, creating a version and production publication are separate steps. Deployment explains how to check the version actually running.
