Roadmaps
A roadmap organizes the construction of a ready business area into phases. The launch form selects an eligible area; it does not replace the preparation of its functionality and pages.
Before you start — Choose a business area whose functions and pages have been prepared. Resolve its questions and any requested storage prerequisite. The launch form identifies eligible work; a roadmap is a construction sequence for that work.
Check that work is ready to start
Complete the area’s preparation before looking for it in the launch form’s eligible choices.
- Open Modules and inspect the area concerned.
- Resolve its open questions and check the readiness of the functions and pages.
- Create the area's data storage when its overview requests it.
- Open the roadmap creation offered by the project tools.
The area is ready to be selected, or the remaining prerequisite has been identified.
Note — If No module ready to build appears, use View my modules to complete preparation. The launch form only offers work eligible for construction.
If an orders area is ready but customer approval still has open questions, check which area the launch form offers. Follow the eligible area’s phases and resolve the other area’s questions separately; the two states do not describe the same construction work.
Launch a roadmap
Confirm which area will be constructed before submitting the launch request, then follow that request’s progress.
- Open Create a roadmap.
- In Module, select the eligible business area.
- Click Launch the roadmap.
- Follow the launch request and open the roadmap when it becomes available.
The request starts construction preparation. It does not immediately publish a version to production.
Follow the construction phases
Use the phase sequence to understand the current work and open the associated item when a response is needed.
- Open the roadmap list or overview.
- Click Detail on the roadmap concerned.
- Open its phase view and review the sequence, current state and progress.
- Open the related work item when it needs an answer or a prerequisite.
Use Refresh to reload the list. Tasks brings together the actions that need your attention.
Important — The roadmap's Settings tab offers Mark as complete for an unfinished roadmap. This cancels its work still open, marks every phase as delivered and activates the module it builds.
Verify the finished result
A completed construction phase is reviewed through the actual application journey before being prepared for publication.
- Identify the functions and pages completed by the roadmap.
- Open the development application.
- Test the expected user journeys and important exceptions.
- Prepare the reviewed changes for a version in Deployment.
The development result is checked and the intended release can be reviewed in Deployment.
Important — Roadmap completion describes construction progress. Check the actual environment version separately before telling users that a change is live.
